Established in 1936 The Zephyr Nassau Sunshine (ZNS) began as a small radio station with a powerful purpose: to inform, educate, and entertain the people of The Bahamas. Originally launched to disseminate government information and connect the far-flung islands of the archipelago, ZNS quickly grew into a national institution and the country’s leading public broadcaster. Over the decades, ZNS expanded its reach and capabilities, adding FM to its AM radio services and moving into television broadcasting with the debut of ZNS-TV13 in 1977. This historic moment brought Bahamian stories, news, and culture to screens nationwide, further solidifying ZNS’s role in shaping the national identity.
